We researched log home companies for many years before deciding to build our home. We had actually decided to buy a southland log home until we were vacationing in pigeon forge, Tennessee. We stopped in at a Barna Log Home model and talked to Samantha story. Our main purpose in stopping was to get decorating ideas, not to compare companies. Samantha talked to us about log homes and we told her we had already decided on another company but she convinced us into sending in a drawing of what we wanted just to compare prices. We were skeptical about doing this because we thought southland was the way to go. Anyway, once we were back home we talked about it and decided that it might not be such a bad idea.
We sent our plans in and were contacted by the nearest dealer in our area. Clay Bradburn called and my husband talked to him. Much to our amazement, Clay did not try to sell us Barna Log Homes but instead talked to us about log homes...what to look out for, how to care for them and other things of this nature. This really impressed us because with southland the salesmen were pushy. They wanted to sell their product but didn't spend as much time talking about quality or customer service. Clay got a price for us on our plans and he also explained in detail how the Barna system worked. He covered all the bases and honestly told us that we could find certain things cheaper at our local Lowes or Home Depot and didn't try conning us into buying everything from Barna. We were appreciative of his honesty.
Clay went out of his way to help us. He would meet us halfway from our home and his to talk to us. We had the freedom to call him just to ask questions. He was great. After much prayer and consideration we knew that Barna Log Homes was the way to go. We liked everything about them after seriously considering all the options. Once we bought our package we were sent to a school on how to build a Barna Log Home. We went to Tennessee for 3 days and went to a seminar that covered everything you could think of. We had time to do hands on work and time to ask questions. The class was great. We learned a lot and are so glad we participated in it.
As for customer service, Clay was, and still is, outstanding. He gave us no pressure to buy but truly wanted to see our dreams come true. His honesty meant a whole lot to us. We made a true friend when we met him. The quality of our home is superb. We have had so many people stop to see our home and brag about how beautiful it is and how well built it is. We know we did the right thing by buying a Barna Log Home and not southland. My husband knows several people that actually bought a southland home and they are so displeased with it. They have all kinds of trouble with their homes because of air in filtration, you can see through the joints, the upstairs doors won't shut, the list goes on and on. We thank Barna Log Homes for convincing us to compare "apples to apples". It was the best decision we ever made. Anyone who buys a Barna Log Home system will definitely be pleased.
Best Log Home from start to finish

After reviewing the literature on 8 log home companies, as well as attending log home shows, we can truly say that from the first experience to the day we moved into our Barna Log Home we were completely satisfied. We had an assembly crew that was Barna Log Home certified to erect our log home and did so in a very timely manner. The logs were delivered and our log home distributor was here that day and for many days to follow.
If we had any questions he was available night and day. If the builder, who finished out the interior of the log home had any questions he was a cell phone call away. He came to visit the building site numerous times and would call often to see if we had any questions or concerns about the construction. He was willing to get experts down to see the construction because we did change some of the interior plans of the house during construction and he wanted to make sure everything would be done correctly so that no problems would arise. We have been in our Barna Log Home for 9 years and have never had any problems. It is a gorgeous house from top to bottom and we wouldn't trade our Barna Log Home for anything. We would highly recommend the company of Barna Log Homes to anyone and would be glad to be a reference. Our national distributor was the best and we would recommend him to anyone who wants the best when they build a Barna Log Home.

Without a doubt, the Barna Log Home company, and especially their representative, Clay Bradburn of
Greer, SC, are absolutely, positively, 1000% outstanding!!! Their service, quality, response and professionalism are near perfect! I had zero problems with my design, delivery, build and final move in! As an engineer I am very meticulous with details and results and I was equally matched with the Barna Log Home company and their representatives.
